Ed Knight, Executive Vice President
I have been in the building industry most of my adult life. I started my career wearing a toolbelt. I worked my way up from the ground floor, eventually running my own framing and trim crews before taking my first job operating a component plant.
While working full time and raising five children I earned a BA. Several years later I received a Masters degree. I am currently working on a Doctorate in strategic Planning and Leadership. It has always been my belief that continuing education is important in one’s life. Lessons come in many forms however and we should always be looking for the lessons that life offers. Lately I have the joy in seeing these lessons in the form of my four grandchildren.
Connections and relationships between family and work, community and personal and civic values offer vital key lessons for me personally.. If we're going to make a real difference in our lives, we have to do more than just scratch an itch. We have to accept the responsibility for our actions.
This is a good example of how I lead TSS.
I believe we need to provide the very best of ourselves in the products and services our company offers. Through solid family values, lifelong commitment to the community, continuing education and dedication to excellence we reach that goal.

I have been in the manufacturing and distribution industry for 20 years. I have been with TSS since 2005.
It has been a very enjoyable experience working for TSS we have a great team of talented and dedicated individuals that make up our team.
I have 3 children, 1 son and twin girls. When not spending time with my children I enjoy golfing, pool, and exploring anything with historical significance.
Avid football fan that is optimistic that the Vikings will win a Superbowl.

I’ve been with TSS since a few months after its inception in 1995, beginning as its Controller and was promoted to Director of Finance after 1 1/2 years. Before coming here I worked for a Fortune 500 company in increasing levels of responsibility within the finance area for 10 years, and I worked in public accounting for 4 years before that to obtain my CPA license.
I’m a proud graduate of Penn State, having been born and raised in PA. My greatest accomplishments are my two sons, and my happy marriage since 1992. I spend my time supporting my sons’ participation in football & rugby, and enjoying our two rescued greyhounds. I love helping to make TSS a great company for our customers and our employees!

Tammy McCarty, CSR
I have worked in the lumber industry for more than 9 years, coming to TSS a year and a half ago. I see our customers very much as an important part of the TSS family. With almost 10 years in customer service and inside support I am very knowledgeable in all aspects of the building process.
I have built 2 homes of my own and am currently working on my 3rd with my husband, a most wonderful dream home on 80 acres. We have 2 children, both girls, who stay active in sports. I enjoy taking vacations with my family, playing volleyball, and building homes, as it all keeps me active.

I am in customer service at TSS and have been for over 5 years. With 16 years of customer service experience, I have the experience to help with pretty much anything our customers need. I have enjoyed learning and growing with this company. I am looking forward to being involved with TSS's expanding goals for serving our customers this year.
I am very blessed to have three wonderful children who are involved in many sports and school activities. In my spare time, I enjoy relaxing at the beach and shopping.

I have been a part of the component Industry for more than 33 years and have been with TSS since 2006.
It has been a pleasure to work with the team at TSS they are some of the best, most experienced, dedicated people you will find anywhere.
When not working I love to spend time with my family. My favorite place to go is Cape Hatteras. I enjoy working in my shop fixing or making things and relaxing in the evening watching TV with the Chihuahuas.

With over 30 years of diverse construction experience and having enjoyed learning and growing with the industry. I have been involved in a wide variety of construction disciplines that include commercial, multi-family and residential homes.
Family is the single most important element of life and the construction
industry has allowed me to grow and provide for my family. I have two daughters and, raising them has been the most exciting journey.
I am proud of my children and family having faith that I have emphasized the importance of hard work and professional ethics.

I have been in the custom panelized housing industry since 1971 and with TSS since 2007. I started in the factory and worked my way up the ladder through all phases of construction. In doing wall panel design, it’s like creating a puzzle made out of wood framed walls. Each new floor plan starts a new puzzle. Very challenging at times but I really like seeing the final product come together.
I also enjoy golfing, hunting and taking my 1929 Ford to car shows with my wife, meeting other people and talking cars.

I have been working in the building and component industry since 1984, and designing trusses since 1989. I started designing here at TSS in 2009 and enjoy working for this growing company. The computer software and manufacturing
equipment has come a long way since the 1980’s and has given us the ability to design and build trusses for just about any structure.
In our free time my wife and I enjoy cycling, hiking and just hanging out with friends and family.

I have been in the housing industry for just over five years now. I jumped on an awesome opportunity right out of school and have been running with it ever since. I love coming to work everyday and having new challenges to over come. I have just recently been trained on HERS/Energy star ratings, and I am always ready to learn something new.
When I get home I spend time with the two best ladies in the world, my beautiful wife and daughter.
I love getting out on the open road and riding my motorcycle or hanging with some buddies at the shooting range in my free time.

I have been in the construction business for over thirty years following in my fathers footsteps. I am a proud father of two wonderful children and the husband of a wonderful wife. I have been in the truss industry almost 20 years and have loved every minute of it, even through the ups and downs of construction.
I am a true “tom boy” and love building. It is a gratifying feeling to see the production process through, from sticks of lumber transform into wall panels, floor and roof
trusses and very exciting to see the finished product pulling out on one of our trucks.
In my spare time, I enjoy the time with my adult children and families, NASCAR, softball, bowling and shooting pool. When the season is right, I love sunshine, sand and water.

I have been in the housing industry for four years now. I love the challenges of ever so changing market. Although I haven’t been in this market that long I have been in distribution of products since 2002. I think this company will grow to be one of the best as we strive to give the best customer service.
I have a great wife and two young boys which is my life. I try to squeeze some time in to ride my motorcycle in the warmer months.
I try to treat others like I would want to be treated and count each day as a blessing.

I have been with Total Structural Solutions since September 2008. I have been in the construction field most of my life. I was a Crew Leader for floor truss production for 4-1/2 years at another company.
In 2008, I moved from Westminster, MD to Capon Bridge, WV. I started at TSS building wall panels for 6 months, eventually landing a position in the office as Purchasing Assistant and Office Administrator.
I have always enjoyed working for TSS and taking on the many challenges of the ever changing construction industry.
When I’m not here at TSS, you will most likely find me at Sleepy Creek on the Potomac Campground. This is something I have enjoyed doing for the last 5 years and I plan to do for many more.
After all, it is my home away from home.

I am the Accounting Manager at Total Structural Solutions and have been in the accounting field for over twelve years. I started at TSS back when it first formed and have helped to get everything set up for our computer system.
I am married and have one son. I enjoy watching my son play on his basketball team and spending time with my family. I like to sing in my church’s choir, and also help out occasionally in the church nursery.

I have been Purchasing in the construction field since 2005, and have been a Purchasing &Inventory Manager since 2008. I enjoy the challenges that come with the industry and strongly believe in team work (which is why I enjoy coming into work every day here)
My main focus here at Total Structural Solutions is to ensure our inventory comes in at the best cost and best quality so that
we can in turn pass down the best cost and quality product to our customers.
I am also a mother of one son whom is most definitely the love of my life, I believe I was truly blessed with him, I have had him focused on success since he was born, when I am not at a school sport or function I enjoy reading books, sightseeing and dancing.

I have been in the office environment of construction companies for over 6 years, working for a few companies in that time, but none compare to working for Total Structural Solutions. TSS has the best employees and they treat their employees GREAT. I believe a company succeeds by the people they employ that make that company great.
I love working for and being a part of the TSS Family. In my spare time, I enjoy working around the house, the yard, baking, hiking, but most of all I love all animals. I spend a lot of time on the weekend’s bird feeding and watching and enjoying the wildlife.
